Friends in Need is a friendly and welcoming peer-to-peer social support community for people to help each other with managing mental wellbeing and reduce loneliness and isolation. Our uplifting, fun and free of charge activities provide the opportunity to socialise and share experiences in a non-judgemental and completely confidential setting. Come and feel supported whilst having a chat and a cuppa with others who understand how you might be feeling. Together, we help each other on our recovery journey. Maidenhead Quilters are actively looking for new members. If you have some sewing skills and can use a sewing machine, we can help you use those skills to make beautiful quilts for yourself, your family, or for some of the charity projects that we support. We are a friendly group that has been going for over 40 years, we do a variety of sewing, patchwork and quilting projects suggested by our members. Containers at the ready! Filling Good is back – they’ll be re-opening on Maidenhead’s high street this February. Bring your containers – any will do – and restock your essentials, from your morning porridge oats to your favourite eco washing-up liquid. Come along to the Community Fridge at St Agnes Cottage, Behind St Agnes Church, 334 St Leonard’s Road Windsor. Tuesday to Friday 11am to 12noon. We ask for a minimum £4 donation which covers are running costs to keep the Community Fridge going. We hope to see you soon. Our badminton club is looking for a few more players. We are a friendly, sociable club of mixed abilities who play at Knowl Hill Community Centre every Monday between 9.30am and 11.45am. The Men's Matters Health and Wellbeing Show returns to Maidenhead Library on Wednesday 4 March, 1.30pm to 4.30pm, offering a free event focused on supporting older, retired men with local services, health information, and social connections. 'This is a rare, dedicated Health & Wellbeing event for older men,” said Men’s Matters organiser Paul Samuels. “From home care to dementia support and accessible living, everything will be under one roof.' Music at Bray presents Fabricio Mattos (guitar) and Yi Hsuan Chen (flute) at St Michael's Church Bray on Sunday 8 March, 3pm. They will perform a vibrant multicultural concert of musical traditions from opposite sides of the world brought to life with solo masterpieces from the classical flute and guitar repertoire. Admission is free with a retiring collection, tea and cake served in the church hall afterwards.

Maidenhead u3a monthly meeting Tuesday, 10 March 2026 at 2.30pm at High Street Methodist Church is “Sir Ernest Shackleton, One of the greatest survival and leadership stories of maritime history.” Speaker: Angela Delgado-Corredor. In 1914 Ernest Shackleton set out from the UK on his ship, Endurance, to attempt to cross Antarctica by land from North to South, via the South Pole. He ultimately did not achieve his aim as his ship was crushed by the ice and sank. His efforts to save his crew were indefatigable, undefeated despite having to row hundreds of miles through freezing Antarctic oceans and scale a mountainous island never previously climbed. After two years all his men were saved. Shackleton emerged from the experience with a reputation as one of the greatest leaders of all time.

Volunteer Opportunity – Finance Support
Well Windsor is looking for a Finance Volunteer to help keep our charity running smoothly!
We are a parent-led charity dedicated to improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in Windsor.
You’ll support with tasks such as:
- Coding payments and receipts in Xero
- Preparing payments, statements, and reports
- Gift Aid reconciliations
- Event fundraising and cashflow reporting
- Other ad hoc finance tasks
Flexible hours – work around your schedule, gain experience, and make a real difference for local children and families in Windsor.

Volunteer assistant to the manager at Elizabeth House Cookham, a well established Day Centre for senior citizens. It is open to members on weekdays from 9.30am to 3.30pm. It has very busy moments during the day and the manager finds she has several tasks all to be done at the same time. We are looking for a volunteer who can step in and help. For example, helping with meet and greet if more than one member arrives at the same time. Answer the telephone if the manager is involved in another task. Help man the desk or deal with questions from members or volunteers or visitors. We need cover 5 days a week. The role could be a full day or split into sessions per day - mornings - 9.30 to noon and afternoons - noon to 3.00. If you would like to know more about the Day Centre, visit. Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service is looking for volunteers to help with local community fundraising and events. Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service is a local charity that provides specialist care and vital support to babies, children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families, across Berkshire, South Bucks and surrounding counties. We could not run our much-needed children’s hospice service without the support of our wonderful and dedicated family of volunteers. We are always looking for new volunteers who would like to join us and we have a range of wonderful opportunities to support our community fundraising, that include:
- Helping on our stalls at community fairs to raise awareness and funds for our cause.
- Bucket collections at supermarkets and other public areas like shopping centres, high streets, etc.
- Volunteering at fundraising events (this will could include serving food to guests at events at the hospice, Santa Dash marshalling, selling raffle tickets etc)

Age Concern Windsor are looking for some male volunteers to help out a new Mens' Breakfast club. The club will be run on various Sundays throughout the year, dates to be decided up to one a month. Volunteers would need to be happy to do some of, setting tables, serving refreshments and breakfast, handling cash and cleaning up after. The Club will be open 10.30am to 12.30pm and set up would start at 10am and you would be finished once everything is clear up about 1pm. For more information please call 01753 860685 or email.
Would you be an Angel? Maidenhead Street Angels are local volunteers who patrol the town centre on Saturday nights (and the last Friday each month) from 10pm until midnight or just after, looking out for anyone who could be vulnerable. This could include people who are homeless, walking on their own, intoxicated, receiving unwanted attention or just upset and lonely.
