Containers at the ready! Filling Good is back – they’ll be re-opening on Maidenhead’s high street this February. Bring your containers – any will do – and restock your essentials, from your morning porridge oats to your favourite eco washing-up liquid. It’s a great way to stop plastic pollution while saving money too! Get to 22 High Street, Maidenhead, for zero waste, zero harm shopping.


Come along to the Community Fridge at St Agnes Cottage, Behind St Agnes Church, 334 St Leonard’s Road Windsor. Tuesday to Friday 11am to 12noon. We ask for a minimum £4 donation which covers are running costs to keep the Community Fridge going. We hope to see you soon. There's no need to feel worried, anxious or embarrassed about visiting us at The Community Fridge as we are all just "food waste heroes" passionate about preventing food from going in to waste or into landfill


Our badminton club is looking for a few more players. We are a friendly, sociable club of mixed abilities who play at Knowl Hill Community Centre every Monday between 9.30am and 11.45am. The Arts Society Windsor invite you to attend our January lecture on “Paul Nash and the Landscape of Mystery” presented by Colin Pink, AS accredited lecturer. Paul Nash is one of the most important British modernist artists. He is often associated with art movements such as Neo-Romanticism and Surrealism, but he is a poet of the visual and his work remains hard to categorise. Maidenhead u3a - Tuesday 10 February, 2.30pm at Methodist Church at the top of Maidenhead High Street next to the Boy and the Boat. Speaker: Meriet Duncan ‘The Secret Life of Honeybees’. A children’s author, public speaker, and beekeeper. In her talk, she steps inside the extraordinary hidden world of honeybees to discover how these tiny creatures shape our planet, our food, and our future. She will be bringing some interesting props such as a beehive – without bees!


Maidenhead Music presents a concert of "Hausmusik" with Peter Mallinson and friends at Norden Farm on Tuesday February 17, 7.45pm. Peter is a viola player with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, but his range also includes film scores and supporting a soul and jazz singer. Volunteer assistant to the manager at Elizabeth House Cookham, a well established Day Centre for senior citizens. It is open to members on weekdays from 9.30am to 3.30pm. It has very busy moments during the day and the manager finds she has several tasks all to be done at the same time. We are looking for a volunteer who can step in and help. For example, helping with meet and greet if more than one member arrives at the same time. Answer the telephone if the manager is involved in another task. Help man the desk or deal with questions from members or volunteers or visitors. We need cover 5 days a week. The role could be a full day or split into sessions per day - mornings - 9.30 to noon and afternoons - noon to 3.00. If you would like to know more about the Day Centre, visit. Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service is looking for volunteers to help with local community fundraising and events. Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service is a local charity that provides specialist care and vital support to babies, children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and their families, across Berkshire, South Bucks and surrounding counties. We could not run our much-needed children’s hospice service without the support of our wonderful and dedicated family of volunteers. We are always looking for new volunteers who would like to join us and we have a range of wonderful opportunities to support our community fundraising, that include:

  • Helping on our stalls at community fairs to raise awareness and funds for our cause.
  • Bucket collections at supermarkets and other public areas like shopping centres, high streets, etc.
  • Volunteering at fundraising events (this will could include serving food to guests at events at the hospice, Santa Dash marshalling, selling raffle tickets etc)

Age Concern Windsor are looking for some male volunteers to help out a new Mens' Breakfast club. The club will be run on various Sundays throughout the year, dates to be decided up to one a month. Volunteers would need to be happy to do some of, setting tables, serving refreshments and breakfast, handling cash and cleaning up after. Maidenhead Street Angels are local volunteers who patrol the town centre on Saturday nights (and the last Friday each month) from 10pm until midnight or just after, looking out for anyone who could be vulnerable. This could include people who are homeless, walking on their own, intoxicated, receiving unwanted attention or just upset and lonely. Maidenhead Street Angels are local volunteers who patrol the town centre on Saturday nights (and the last Friday each month) from 10pm until midnight or just after, looking out for anyone who could be vulnerable. This could include people who are homeless, walking on their own, intoxicated, receiving unwanted attention or just upset and lonely.
