The Domestic Abuse Act 2021 received Royal Assent on the 29th of April 2021. Part 4 of the Act requires local authorities to carry out a needs assessment of the need for accommodation based support for victims of domestic abuse or their children, prepare and publish a strategy for the provision of this support, and monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the strategy.

The Safe Accommodation Strategy 2021 – 2024 sets out how The Royal Borough will implement the statutory duties associated with the provision of safe accommodation, as required by the Domestic Abuse Act 2021. It describes how safe accommodation and support for domestic abuse victims will be provided over the next two years and outlines six priorities that will be the focus of delivery.
