There are different organisations and webpages that offer energy and water saving advice:


Ofgem

  • Information on your energy rights, switching supplier, claiming compensation for energy supply issues, reporting energy scams, understanding your energy bill and energy price caps.

Citizens Advice Bureau

  • CAB have a comprehensive webpage that offers advice if you are struggling to pay your energy and water bills
  • Their webpage also includes tips to make your home more energy efficient


Government advice

  • The government have an online tool on which gives you personalised home improvement recommendations to make your home more energy efficient
  • For each recommendation, you can see: an estimated cost for making the improvement, how much you could save on your bills and next steps if you want to make the improvement
  • You can also contact their advisers to get recommendations over the phone instead by calling 0800 098 7950 (charges may apply)


Centre for Sustainable Energy

  • CSE have a dedicated energy advice line which can be accessed by calling 0800 038 6345
  • Their webpage also has useful information about reading energy bills, upgrading or replacing boilers and deciding on which room heater is best.


Money Saving Expert

  • Money Saving Expert have published a handy guide on how to save energy and reduce your energy bills.

  • Provides financial support to ScottishPower customers who are struggling with energy debt and experiencing financial hardship.

LEAP (Local Energy Advice Partnership)

  • Provides free energy and money-saving advice to help households stay warm, reduce energy bills and improve energy efficiency.
  • Supports people who are in, or at risk of, fuel poverty, including homeowners, private renters and social housing tenants.

British Gas

  • Offers access to free, independent advice on budgeting, benefits, managing energy costs, energy debt, and improving household energy efficiency.

E.ON Next Energy Fund

  • Eligible E.ON Next Customers experiencing financial hardship may be able to receive grants to help clear gas and electricity debt and get their energy account back on track.

OVO Energy

  • OVO can offer tailored payment plans, debt replacement support, emergency credit, and financial assistance for customers who are struggling to pay their energy bills.
