Braywick Nature Centre and RBWM's Climate Partnership are working together to offer a range of development, wellbeing and volunteering opportunities for businesses and their staff in Windsor and Maidenhead. To find out more, contact Alistair at alistair.will@rbwm.gov.uk 01628 777440.

Conservation Skills

This winter we are looking for groups of volunteers to help us plant a 300m wildlife hedge at Ockwells Park just south of Maidenhead, near Junction 8/9 of the M4. Tree planting can only be done when the young bare-rooted whips (saplings) are dormant from December to February and can be transported without damaging their health. This is a great fun day out in a beautiful setting, learning all about tree planting and conservation while doing something positive for biodiversity and climate change mitigation. We provide all tools, supervision and risk assessments, no experience is required!

Carbon Literacy

Independently certified by the Carbon Literacy Project, this remote training will equip your staff with an understanding of how their daily choices at work and at home affect the climate crisis, and will empower them to consider climate change more fully, to have more positive conversations about climate change, and to make more informed decisions. Carbon Literacy training is delivered over two 4 hour Teams sessions. Alternatively, we are currently developing a Carbon Action Toolkit course as a more streamlined, in-person experience over half a day at the beautiful Braywick Nature Centre in Maidenhead.

Nature Connectedness

Learn how to improve staff wellbeing and psychological functioning through interacting with nature at Braywick Nature Centre. Learn to identify trees, birds, aquatic life, light a campfire, go forest bathing, experience an Earth Walk. A huge and growing body of research is showing that spending deliberate and focussed time in green space is good for everyone's mental, physical and emotional health. Over a day outdoors at Braywick Nature Centre, we use our expertise in conservation and outdoor learning to show people how they can connect with nature on a daily basis.
