This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead’s strategy for sustainability and climate change. You will be an important member of the Council’s growing Sustainability and Climate Change team sitting within the wider Infrastructure, Sustainability and Economic Growth service.
In July 2019 the Council declared a climate emergency and established a Cross-Party Working Group to undertake an in-depth review of the council’s current carbon footprint and to formulate, consult and agree on a net Zero Carbon Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead by 2050 Strategy. The strategy was approved by the Council in December 2020 and we are now looking ahead to deliver against the action plan it sets out.
In this exciting new role you will take responsibility for developing and delivering projects detailed in our Environment & Climate Strategy and our newly adopted Biodiversity Action Plan. This will include writing funding applications, managing key stakeholders and monitoring project budgets.
