Pharmaceutical Needs Assessments (PNAs) show the pharmaceutical services needed for an area. They help the NHS decide on applications for new pharmacies, and for the NHS and local authorities consider changes to services at existing ones.
PNAs must be updated every three years. The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead is currently looking at the borough’s PNA for 2022 to 2025, which is now being consulted on before being finalised.
Berkshire Public Health held a public survey at the beginning of the year into how you use your pharmacies across the Royal Borough. Your feedback from that survey was part of the PNA process to help inform the draft PNA now being consulted on.
This consultation reviews the findings of the draft PNA on the current services and identify any gaps or improvements that need to be made to the final PNA. You can find the Royal Borough’s draft PNA to the right of this page.
The draft PNA has been produced by looking at the health needs of the population, the current pharmacy network and its services, and a survey of public views on current services. It also draws on research material as well as stakeholder input that looked at different aspects of pharmacy services.
We invite you to review the draft PNA and give us your views on its research, its conclusions, and recommendations.
The consultation closes at midnight on 29June 2022.
Thank you for taking part.
