Overview

We are consulting to introduce a Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO). PSPOs create legal powers to help authorities address specific anti-social behaviour issues in an area that are having a detrimental effect on the quality of life for those in the local community.

Consultation: Ticket touting and unauthorised sales in Royal Ascot.

The consultation proposes creating a new Public Space Protection Order for three years on Ascot High Street and Station Hill to help protect the area for residents and visitors.

If introduced, it would give police officers and community wardens the power to challenge anyone ticket touting or unauthorised selling, and even issue a fixed penalty notice of £100.

Ticket touting is selling, offering for sale, or advertising event tickets without the express written permission of the event organiser, and approaching members of the public with the intention of selling or exchanging tickets.

Unauthorised selling is selling or attempting to sell goods, merchandise, or services without a valid licence or prior written consent from the relevant authority, and displaying goods for sale in public spaces within the PSPO zone.

Consultation: How to have your say

We encourage our residents to state whether they agree or disagree with the proposal, to offer any further comments or suggestions, and share experiences of any other anti-social behaviour issues in public spaces. Your feedback will be analysed and shared with all councillors to help inform future discussions and decisions concerning the PSPOs.

Please view a draft copy of the order on the right-hand side and fill out our survey below to have your say. This consultation will be open until Wednesday 21 January 2026.
