What is being proposed?

Following consultation on a proposal to introduce a new Zebra crossing point in Smiths Lane, Windsor which would be situated in the area of the junction with Manor Road, RBWM has decided to implement the scheme.

The proposed scheme will increase the safety of children attending the local schools, as well as residents attending the Library and the Church, and enable them to cross the road in a safe manner. The crossing will be placed on a raised table to ensure that access is maintained for all users and that traffic speeds are slowed. The scheme will help in creating a more cycle and pedestrian friendly environment to encourage and facilitate more journeys on foot and by bicycle.

Consultation results

Results collated for the consultation to introduce a new Zebra crossing point in Smiths Lane, Windsor received a total of 41 responses. 41 out of the 41 responses received agreed to the implementation of the scheme. 28 out 40 respondents prefer option A.
