Welcome! The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is excited to present the Sustainable Event Award, a special recognition program for event organisers dedicated to environmental sustainability.
This voluntary award recognised events that demonstrate achievement in sustainable practices.
Award Levels
The Sustainable Event Award includes three levels of recognition:
Bronze
Silver
Gold
Each tier reflects the extent to which sustainable practices are integrated across various operational aspects of your event.
How to Participate
Here’s a quick guide on how to apply for the Sustainable Event Award:
Complete the Checklist (can be downloaded from this page)
Review and complete the Sustainable Event Award Checklist to assess your event's sustainable practices, including:
Recycling programs
Sustainable travel options
Use of single-use containers
Optional: Sustainable catering practices
Compile Supporting Evidence
Collect documents or materials that support your checklist responses. Examples include:
Photos of recycling and waste collection points
Event menu showcasing sustainable catering options
Email your completed checklist and supporting evidence to the Sustainability Team at Sustainability@RBWM.gov.uk.
Receive Your Award
Once your submission is reviewed, you’ll receive an award badge (Bronze, Silver, or Gold) for use on your website and promotional materials, celebrating your dedication to sustainability!
