The RBWM Voluntary and Community Sector Partnership has been created to build capacity and support the development of voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations, that engage residents across the borough. Our aim is to encourage collaboration and offer a supportive environment where all VCSs can come together to discuss ongoing issues and celebrate successes. The intention of the partnership is to foster a co-productive space that allows for the free and respectful exchange of ideas between organisations.
We understand that many community organisations have limited time to devote to cross-collaboration and networking and we hope this partnership will act an an umbrella that pools the resources, knowledge and experience of the steering group to empower our VCS colleagues - without requiring attendance at multiple different meetings and signing up to yet another mailing list!
How the partnership works
The partnership runs four forums a year. Currently, we intend all our forums to be in person. We aim to provide networking sessions at the beginning and end of the forums (tea, coffee and cake supplied!). Forums are public meetings and open to all VCS organisations who operate in the borough. Feedback garnered from these forums form the basis of future forums and influence the overall direction of the partnership.
The partnership also run one-off events throughout the year such as volunteer fairs, funding events etc. You can find the details of upcoming events and forums below.
Topics
The themes for forums will always be taken from attendee feedback. Our summer session will offer workshops on:
Funding
Resources Sharing
Volunteer Recruitment & Retention
Other topics that have been discussed in past forums and will be built into future meetings:
Building relationships
Writing policies and governance
The role of trustees
How to use digital media effectively
The role of AI in the future of community organisations
Membership
There are no formal membership requirements, forums are open to all who are interested or work within the VCS. All events are free to attend.
