We are committed to supporting local people to get involved with what matters most to them in their local communities.
Volunteering is a great opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge. It also offers the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around you.
We work closely with Community Learning and Skills Service (CLaSS), who lead on volunteering in the Borough by matching volunteers to volunteering opportunities. CLaSS are also jointly commissioned by Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead and Slough Borough Council, to deliver courses for adults (over 19 years old) in Windsor, Maidenhead and Slough.
We have posted below specific volunteering opportunities currently available in the Borough which you may be interested in, please contact the organisation directly to find out more. You can also email classvolunteers@slough.gov.uk if you are looking for a general volunteer opportunity, or you’d like to discuss volunteering further.
If you're an organisation or community group with a volunteering opportunity please post details on the relevant tab below and we may be able to help you find a volunteer.
If you are a new volunteering group please also get in touch with Baljit.

Maidenhead Festival is the biggest, regularly organised, free, public event in Maidenhead and has many benefits for our community, including building community spirit and goodwill. It helps to strengthen the charities and other organisations which take part by providing a platform for publicity, fund raising and recruitment.
2022 was one of the most successful years we’ve ever had with an increase in the number of people attending Festival and taking part in the free activities. It is estimated that between 12,000 – 15,000 people from in and around Maidenhead enjoyed the two days of entertainment.
Rotary is non political or religious global organisation represented by local clubs made up of neighbours, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our local communities, and in ourselves. Our Rotary Club meets twice a month in friendship and fellowship. We have speakers and arrange projects such as Quizzes, Santa Grotto, Carol Singing, etc., to raise funds for local and international charities. We also hold social events and undertake local educational initiatives. We meet at Fredrick’s Hotel in Maidenhead generally on 2nd & 4th... Continue reading

Sunninghill Rainbows are a group of about twelve delightful 5 to 6 year old girls. Usually we’re happy but we’re sad at the moment because our leaders have to leave and our pack will close unless we can find someone to take over.
We meet in the Sunninghill guide centre every Thursday in term time from 4pm to 5pm but if those times aren’t suitable there are other groups of Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers who meet at different times and would welcome extra help.

The different groups do activities dependent on their age - games, craft, badges, camp fire cooking, climbing, bell boating. All you need is a desire to get involved and help girls to develop self confidence and independence, make friends, have fun and learn new skills that they may not gain from any other organisation.
We need volunteers and new leaders to keep Girl Guiding thriving in... Continue reading
