Why Volunteer?

“The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.” – Oscar Wilde

Volunteering offers a myriad of benefits to you, as well as those you help and support. There are many ways to volunteer and sometimes things we do in our life, often just through habit, can become part of a wider volunteer movement in our street, our neighbourhood or local community. Picking up that piece of litter and popping it in the bin on your walk; checking-in with your neighbour to make sure they're ok; Contributing items to a foodbank after your weekly shop.

Any action that helps others and the place you live is a great thing, it gives you a little boost of good feelings and helps you connect with your local area. Coming together with like-minded people who share your values or interests can allow you to take these small acts of kindness onto a larger stage. You can also challenge yourself to learn new things and volunteer doing something that you've always wanted to try and not been able to. We are proud to have a strong voluntary and community sector that reaches across the borough - offering structured support and multiple opportunities to get involved in all sorts of events and activities.

Our latest volunteering opportunities can be found below and you can discover the many community groups and charities that operate across the borough in our Community Information Hub.

You will find a number of resources and information about volunteering in the following pages if you would like to know more about how to volunteer, what you need to consider and the support RBWM can offer to community and voluntary groups.

Thank you for supporting your local borough.

    Buttons & Bubbles CIC was established to bring inclusion and representation to children, young people, families and other professionals connected with and affected by illness and disability.     We launched Buttons & Bubbles on the road this year where we take our sensory activities to mainstream events. With the aim of;

    - Providing a safe space for families who would otherwise find mainstream events difficult.

    If you're interested in volunteering OR if you know someone 75+ who would benefit from attending, please email me via: atiyah.dacosta@re-engage.org.uk or sign up directly... Continue reading

    Having fun with Autistic Young People

    Come along on Saturdays and help Autistic Children and Young People have fun, doing things that they enjoy, together.

    Some people volunteer once a month, others more frequently.
