Ascot & Sunninghill World Café – Outcomes

Social Isolation

Innovation Funding – funding has been targeted towards projects that would address social isolation & loneliness in this area. One example of a group that has recently been funded is the Sunningdale Bowling Club

Sunningdale World Café – another World Café event is being planned for Sunningdale and the theme may be social isolation and loneliness

Community Views

Community Champions Recruitment – Community Champions are being continuously recruited at every World Café and community event we go to. It is important that every part of our Borough is represented through this network and together we build upon the community spirit that emerged from the pandemic

Services for men – our lead facilitator is a Trustee of Mens Matters. Concerns were raised that the sense of community and recruitment of volunteers that happened within the Covid-19 pandemic has now begun to reduce Matters. Through the innovation fund we have also targeted projects specifically for men such as the ‘Blokes Losing Timber’ project as we recognise that there are very few services across the Borough for this cohort.

Money Management

CLaSS Budgeting Courses – a budgeting course is currently being developed by our adult learning partner. It is expected to be open for enrolments by September 2022 and this will be advertised by our Comms team ·

Here to Help webpage – the RBWM Here to Help page is being updated regularly with all the cost-of-living support that is available to residents. At each World Café a flyer with this information is being distributed for people who may not have access to our online resource

Library Services – the libraries across the Borough are important assets within our community. At every World Café the libraries are being promoted as a place where residents can be signposted to the relevant cost-of-living support

Transport

Infrastructure Team – although this is a wider infrastructure issue and it is difficult to address these concerns with community-based solutions, the feedback has been relayed to our RBWM Infrastructure team

Service Availability

Asset Map – there is an existing RBWM Asset Map on the website which community groups and residents are being encouraged to add any services/groups/events they know about

Innovation Fund – residents are encouraged to apply for innovation funding to fill any service gaps they feel they could address with their project ideas

Bracknell Forest Council – partnership with between RBWM and Bracknell Forest Council to ensure adequate service provision for Ascot services

Ascot Hub – continuous promotion of the Ascot Hub for residents that need support with food and other services
