Old Windsor World Cafe - Saturday 4th February 2023
Our 14th RBWM World Cafe took place on the 4th February at the Memorial Hall in Old Windsor alongside Abri Housing providing residents with advice and support. A variety of stalls were present such as a smoking cessation services (Solutions4Health), social prescribing team, libraries, local police community support and information on adult learning classes.
Other offers included support from DraughtBusters (RBWM innovation fund applicant, stage 2). They will fix the draughts in residents home for FREE so residents should feel warmer and spend less money on their heating. This a service offered BY local residents FOR local residents. Draughty homes can feel cold and increase the energy required to heat them. Through Draughtbusters, a trained resident will come and survey your property and undertake basic draughtproofing. This will ensure residents homes feel more comfortable and reduce carbon emissions. To get in contact with the project, please email rbwmdraughtbusters@gmail.com(External link).
Furthermore, residents were able to chat to our Facilitator Julia. Lots of information/leaflets were provided to also include advice on FLU.
Finally, warm kits (which include hot water bottles, scarves, socks, gloves, hats) were provided by the Green Doctor (energy efficiency experts who are a regular partner at our World Cafe's) and given to residents alongside the offer of a free consultation to help support them to save money, stay warm and well. This is a free offer.
