    RBWM Strategic Lead @ RBWM

    Jesal Dhokia is the RBWM Service Lead for Transformation and Community for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.  Jesal, led on the community response for COVID 19 by engaging the community to become facilitators, coaches and catalysts for localised support and engagement. She has a BA Honours in community work and embeds the ethos of Asset Based Community Development in all her projects.   During the last two years, the work has expanded to engage communities into a solution-based approach and delivering community led projects through the Embedding Community Response programme, which included empowering BAME communities to deliver projects in partnership with the Voluntary Sector, NHS and a wide range of key stakeholders, on a number of self-help community programmes.  The Royal borough have seen a huge shift in community engagement and empowerment through the value-based delivery of communities through her work.

    2022 has seen further development into the community engagement work through the expansion of the personalisation agenda within the Wellbeing Circles Project, Community Information Champions and the creation of the innovative and flexible World Cafes Program, to deliver a co productive engagement model across all the wards in the borough.

    Jesal is passionate about making a difference, she creates partnerships that include understanding needs, values and with emotional intelligence to create positive partnerships across all stakeholder groups including the members to deliver with communities rather than to them.

  • Team member, Nicky Smith
    Nicky Smith
    NHS Frimley Lead @ NHS Frimley

    Nicky Smith is the RBWM Transformation Manager for Populations and Communities for NHS Frimley.  She has a clinical background with experience of working in the community, primary care and working with children and young people.  During the last 5 years, her roles have included extensive outreach, community & engagement, and project led work with families, children and young people addressing health inequalities and providing mobile, tailored, and direct advice and support.  Alongside her current role, Nicky is studying for a master’s qualification to further support her work with communities.  

    Finally, Nicky (NHS Lead) is working with the RBWM Strategic Lead and RBWM Officer in developing and evolving an RBWM ‘Empowering our Communities model’ which brings together 3 methods of community engagement and empowerment including: RBWM World Cafes / RBWM Innovation Fund project / community champions.   • Team member, Sumayyah Zeib
    Sumayyah Zeib
    RBWM Officer

    Sumayyah is the Community Engagement Officer at RBWM. Her background is in Global Health and she has a particular interest in health related projects.

    Over the last year she has supported and/or led on a number of different projects such as the Community Information Champions, Innovation Fund project, Healthwatch Mind the Gap report, and Embedding Community Response. 

    Sumayyah is passionate about creating strong partnerships and working together to make sustainable changes with the community.
