As part of our commitment to investing in quality infrastructure that connects neighbourhoods and businesses and allows them to prosper, we are consulting with local residents on a proposal to reduce the speed limit from 40mph to 30mph on Harvest Hill Road, from a point 10 meters East of its junction with Old Forge Close to its junction with Kimbers Lane.

Reducing the speed limit from 40mph to 30mph will increase the safety of all road users, which number will grow following a new development in the area.

A lower speed limit would also preserve the natural landscape, wildlife and ecosystem as well as minimizing noise and air pollution. This will improve the amenities of the area through which the road run.

The measures are also proposed as part of the larger scheme will encourage walking and cycling in these roads, and therefore a lower speed of vehicles is required.

If supported, the new speed limit will be implemented at the end of the relevant legal process required.

The survey is published below and the deadline is 24th November 2024.

Following the consultation period, all responses will be considered before a decision is made on the next steps, although individual replies will not be provided.

A further update will then be issued on the RBWM website before the end of January 2025.
