Braywick Nature Centre - Hall

The Braywick Nature Centre has a beautiful small hall. This is a Victorian stable conversion with exposed beams. Primarily for teaching school groups and nature based community events, the hall is also is regularly hired out for classes. The image below details when the hall is generally booked throughout the week. Please note that this only shows regular bookings. What is the Braywick Nature Centre?

How much does it cost to hire the hall?

£18 an hour. From April 2026 the hall will be £19 an hour to hire.

What is the hall capacity?

The hall capacity is 70 standing and 50 seated. Generally there is comfortable room for 12 people in a yoga class. Other activities have different capacities.


What hall equipment is there?

We have 15 white, foldable tables of 120cm x 75cm. There are 70 classroom style chairs. The hall also has 2 sofas and a coffee table. We have a large, moveable, interactive screen which connects by HDMI and USBC to laptops. The hall also has a table tennis table, which can be booked for use, with permission only.


What kitchen facilities are there?

Use of our small kitchen is included in the hire charge. The kitchen has a microwave, toaster, two kettles, sink, dishwashers, cutlery, plates, bowls, cups, jugs and mugs.


Can I hire the garden?

Use of the Braywick Nature Centre garden is also included. The garden is just under half an acre in size, which grass areas, patio area, various benches and seating areas and surrounded by hedging and trees. There is a large wooden spiral which is enjoyed as a playing area by children. We also run a wildlife garden area, however this is fenced off from general use.


Can I hire the woodland classroom?

Yes, Braywick also owns two beautiful woodland classrooms, which can be hired out for community based activities, such as forest school sessions. Each classroom costs £55 for half a day. If you would also like use of the nature centre, this is hired in addition. At our discretion, a Ranger can also be hired to light a campfire in the woodland classroom. Prices for this are to be organised directly with us. Please email bnc@rbwm.gov.uk. Please note, campfires cannot be lit without use of a Ranger.

What is the locking procedure?

The hall must be locked and unlocked before and after use. Hirers are supplied with a key and key code to disarm the alarm, and realarm on exit. Lights and heating must be switched off. Unlocking and locking procedures are explained when bookings are made and keys are arranged to be handed out.


Can the hall be hired for parties?

Generally, no. Braywick Nature Centre is a council run building and hiring is in keeping with activities based around nature or engaging the local community, rather than private parties.

Generally, our weekly hires are shown in the timetable below. However, there are often additional bookings, which can be confirmed upon contact with us.

    Monday Evening Yoga Class:

    This yoga flow class incorporates many cutting-edge science and brain studies to help you breathe, move and feel better!

    You will need your yoga mat, a soft pilates ball and ideally a yoga block and strap. If you don’t have any of these please let me know as I have a few extras.



    Places are limited to just 10. An option to join us online is available too.
