Oaken Grove Park - Flower Bed Planting

Today (Monday Dec 8th 2025) a group of 7 from Wild Maidenhead and Friends of Oaken Grove Park planted over 40 plants (kindly donated by Rachel Cooke) in the Flower bed. These were surrounded by cardboard with wood chip mulch on to top to help keep the grass down. Should make a lovely display come the Spring!

Oaken Grove Park - Revamp of Wild Flower Beds - Nov 2025

On Saturday 22nd November a group pf about 8 volunteers from Friends of Oaken Grove Park, Good Gym and Wild Maidenhead started the revamp of the wild flower bed on the north of the park. Many plants were lifted and moved, new plants added and wood chip distributed to suppress weeds. Also a Turf Cutter was hired to remove as much of the grass as possible and create a good flower bed where the grass wouldn't out complete the flowers. Additional planting and maintenance over the winter should result in a lovely display next year!
