** FUNDING FOR COMMUNITY HEALTH & WELLBEING PROJECTS**

2023-2024

In 2022-2023, RBWM and NHS Frimley were hugely successful in engaging RBWM residents and provided seed funding for 29 projects across the RBWM to support resident ideas thereby improving their health and wellbeing and kick starting self-sustainable change using their own solutions. Just under £100,000 of funding was provided. Having utilised the World Café concept (listening process) through our 2022-2023 'Empowering our Communities' engagement model, we identified what mattered to residents via an asset based community development and co-productive approach. Attached project case studies from 2022-2023 show how residents ideas (generated from outcomes of the World Cafe's) have made and continue to make a difference to communities.

For 2023-2024, our aim is to maintain the same concept (listening process/resident dialogue) but to now build communities resilience thereby expanding growth and continued community led change. Each RBWM ward will be allocated £2,500 ensuring funds are distributed evenly for residents. Building on current RBWM intelligence and our findings from the World Cafe's and 30 Innovation Fund projects, facilitation of conversations with residents will continue to support potential community projects whilst connecting with current RBWM Innovation Fund projects.

Funding will be open to any RBWM resident or group of any age no matter how big or small the idea. It must identify how it will improve the health and wellbeing of yours or your neighbours, friends and groups health and wellness, and how much funding is needed to kickstart the idea and why.

Projects must continue to focus on 1 of the 4 areas below in line with the 4 key priorities within the RBWM’S Health & Wellbeing Strategy 2021-2025:

  1. Improving access to services to better people’s health
  2. Social isolation & loneliness
  3. Health prevention to reduce risk factors
  4. Reduce mental or physical health inequalities

CRITERIA FOR IDEAS:

  • NEW and innovative, sustainable (at least 12 months) resident-led projects. Ideas MUST NOT be continued projects wanting additional funding through organisations
  • Ideas MUST relate to the available data as well as themes that emerged from our RBWM World Café events (2022-2023) and RBWM conversations within the local area otherwise projects WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Please visit the 2022-2023 World Café site for more information and view the previous Evaluation and Outcomes Reports at: https://rbwmtogether.rbwm.gov.uk/world-cafes
  • All ideas will be reviewed by a community panel (involving local residents), RBWM & NHS Frimley and if successful, one-off funding up to £2,500 per ward will be provided to get a project(s) up and running. Case studies will be required from successful applicants to demonstrate impact. Support can be provided.
