Green Up Our Streets - Urban Greening Campaign

Last weekend Green Earth Plan CIC kicked off their first National Lottery funded urban greening community project under their 'Green Up Our Streets' campaign. Local residents gathered on the green at Duncroft to discuss their ideas and agree how they would like to use this space to benefit both people and the planet!

The 'Green Up Duncroft' plans have been drafted and once final, they will be submitted to the council for approval under a new green space community adoption scheme that Green Earth Plan CIC has been developing alongside the RBWM's Sustainability Team for several months.

We hope to start planting this autumn before the weather turns and allow new trees, shrubs and bulbs to settle in over the winter months for a nice display in spring and early summer!

The kick-starter funding will support up to 10 Green Up Our Street community projects in Windsor initially, with the aim to attract additional funding to expand across RBWM.

Thank you to local resident John Webb for taking on the role as Duncroft's community lead and to Councillor Helen Price for her continuous support and belief in this community driven initiative across the Clewer & Dedworth East Ward of Windsor. We would also like to thank RBWM's Transformation team and Cllr. Samantha Rayner for their encouragement and support along the way.

If you would like to find out more about adopting a green space or joining this pilot project, please email hello@greenearthplan.org for more information or visit www.greenearthplan.org.
