Sunninghill Parking and Road Safety Consultation

*This consultation has now closed. Thank you to everyone who has shared their views*

Over the last year, we have been looking at the parking and road safety issues faced by motorists and pedestrians in Sunninghill, including significant congestion at the junction of School Road and the High Street during school drop-off and pick-up times.

We're now asking for your views on our proposed changes to help tackle congestion and improve road safety for both motorists and pedestrians.

The proposals outlined in drawings 1-10 aim to address these concerns with additional parking restrictions, a new one-way system and road layout changes to allow more space for vehicles to pass each other safely, alongside new parking permit schemes for residents and businesses.

To make some roads safer by removing existing on-street parking, we have proposed adding a combination of short and long stay parking spaces to local car parks.

The proposals will be complemented by the introduction of new double yellow lines from the B3020 leaving the High Street near Charters Lane and on Kings Road close to the post office that has already been agreed by the council.
