Community development is about honest interaction and building trust with many people, with different interests, all at the same time. Time and consistency are needed to embed such an approach; but when successful the rewards are phenomenal.

I’ve been privileged to be involved with the local ABCD programme as Board Chair. The board has representatives from across public agencies who support individuals and communities living in the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead. Its role is to empower local people to decide what is important to them and minimise barriers.
