Maidenhead Cycle Hub & The Windsor Homeless Project
Maidenhead Cycle Hub is proud to work with RBWM and The Windsor Homeless Project to give bikes to homeless people. Because our borough is geographically spread out, our local council cannot always find housing for homeless people where they normally reside. Cycle Hub’s bikes have proved to be an excellent solution to allow homeless people travel independently and continue to access council services, their social groups, and find work further afield.
Nick Roberts, Windsor Homeless Project said:
"The idea of joining up with Cycle Hub came about as more of our guests were being placed into accommodation outside of the Windsor area. With bus and train fares expensive for people on low income, being able to have the use of a bicycle to access the Project, or other support services is great, plus a little exercise too. It also makes use of bikes which may have been discarded so it helps to keep things green!”
