Volunteer, get fit and meet people with GoodGym

GoodGym are a charity who combine helping in the community with getting fit. The 'Good' bit is that we do good deeds in our local we area. We volunteer with local charities and community projects and help isolated older people in their homes. The things we help with tend to be practical tasks like weeding, sorting donations and painting. We also do social visits to combat loneliness amongst isolated older people.

The 'Gym' bit is that the tasks we do tend to be active and physical, and we encourage GoodGymers to use active travel - running, walking or cycling - to get to volunteering sessions. We also organise optional running/walking challenges and fitness sessions, and the community is very friendly and supportive in helping others to reach their fitness goals.

Activities are all run on a drop-in basis so can fit into busy lives. We have sessions in the evenings, daytimes and at weekends. Visit www.goodgym.org(External link) to register and to sign up for sessions that suit you.
