Windsor Horse Rangers
Do you like horses and children? How about volunteering with us on a Saturday or Sunday morning or afternoon? We are run by a team of enthusiastic volunteers and we are always happy to have new adults join us.
A ‘horsey’ background is not necessary (but very useful!) – you need to have an interest in horses and the ability to interact with children.
The younger children are taught the practical skills by the older ones. The children do the catching, grooming, tacking up, mucking out etc. Our role is to keep an eye on things and provide help or guidance when needed, but we’re not there to look after the horses or get heavily involved in yard duties. The adults take the riding lessons and teach theory, for which we have printed sheets with quizzes and information on so you do not have to have a vast equine knowledge to be a useful member of the team. If you don’t feel up to doing that then we would be happy just to have another pair of eyes and ears on the yard.
We run morning sessions for the 10-18 year olds which run from 8:30am to 1pm and afternoon sessions for the 8-10 year olds which run from 1:30-4:30pm.
If you are interested in volunteering with us, please e-mail us with any questions (windsor.horse.rangers@gmail.com) or simply pop in over a weekend between 9:30am and 4pm and we will be delighted to show you around our yard and show you the activities you could get involved in (we are on Forest Green Road in Fifield, SL6 2NR).
Thank you for your contribution!
