Cycle Lanes, Pathways and Parking
Thank you for visiting the RBWM project page for Active Travel. This engagement has now ended and the surveys are closed. We thank you for all your feedback and there will be an update at a later date with the outcome of this feedback.
Since the publication of the 2018 Cycling Action Plan, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) has seen a significant increase in cycling. In order to support the number of residents who are choosing to embrace more active methods of transport, RBWM are building an exciting, community-led vision for a cleaner, greener ways to travel. We are looking to further invest in cycle lanes and pathways across the borough and as part of these investments, welcome your ideas on how we can make cycling safer and more accessible.
Cycling has a wealth of benefits for individuals, communities, and the environment. These can include improved health and wellbeing in addition to reduced congestion and improved air quality. We want to create a list of areas that need improving in order to apply for funding to make these requests a reality.
Our plans aim to expand upon the 2018 Cycling Action Plan, by providing further investment and introducing a variety of schemes across the borough, which will deliver the improved infrastructure needed to increase levels of active travel.
Is there an existing well used route that needs upgrading to allow for shared space for pedestrians and cyclists? Is there an unofficial cycle way that could be made into a permanent route? Are there routes that would benefit from being linked together? Do you have a suggestion for a segregated cycle path? Do you think there should be more cycle storage at transport hubs and central public areas?
We want to hear from you!
We want to hear from pedestrians and cyclists alike to find out which areas need more shared space or areas that need segregating to make them safer for everyone.
