'COPtober’ events come to RBWM to drive change

An unprecedented number of community-based and environmental groups from across the borough are joining forces for the first time this October and November to engage and drive change amongst local residents.

Named ‘COPtober’, the series of events will coincide with COP26 occurring in early November, when the world’s nations will meet in Glasgow to address the climate emergency. Activities will focus on helping RBWM residents reduce their carbon footprint and improve the environment, with the clear aim to drive new levels of action across the borough.

Dave Scarbrough, leading member of The RBWM Climate Community said, ‘For the first time we have combined the power and enthusiasm of a significant number of passionate climate groups in the borough. Our goal is to work together with the council to enthuse residents to lower their carbon footprint and improve nature in ways that are easy and beneficial.’

From planting trees to draught-proofing your home, film screenings to repair shops; the activities will run from 16th October to 13th November. For more information, contact The Climate Community on Facebook.
