We have fun on most Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays getting together for a chat and catch up over coffee, tea and biscuits. There may not be many of us but those who join have fun and it’s nice to be together in the warmth! When we learn how to upload pictures we’ll do so!

    New Year Mobility Yoga Continues

by UnwindYS, over 1 year ago
Hello - we have been back a few weeks and whilst we had a few cancellations yesterday as it was so icy and that is tricky for people with limited mobility, we still had a nice group of regulars attend their mobility yoga class. The good thing was that the people who called to cancel were so sad to miss the class - and that's good, because it's an indication of how much they like coming and dislike missing classes.

Some of our students have made real progress from only doing chair based movements to practising getting off the chair... Continue reading

    Soup Project - December 2022

by LornaHS, over 1 year ago

We took our soup project to two new schemes in December within Woodlands Park and Belmont. Both went really well and those that came along to Woodlands park are already looking forward to the next one! 10 people came along and there was lots of soup to take away as well.

Our Belmont outing coincided with the world cafe which provided extra support for those residents attending and they particularly appreciated the warm packs from the Green Doctor.

    Maidenhead Boundary Walk

by Edward Piekut, over 1 year ago

After months of trying have recently received permission to use the Environmental Agencies Sign Posts at Boulters Lock to mount my Boundary Walk Information Board.

They not however happy to use the 4 snap lock type of public posters locations on the back of the Board - so I redesigned it so it would not involve any maintenance at all.

I used Michael Bayley's historical map of Maidenhead as the back information.

I worked with Neil Savin and the Civic Society and the East Berks Ramblers - to discover the history of the Boundary Walk - and have produced an... Continue reading

    2022 & New Year's Resolutions

by windsorstreetangels, over 1 year ago

New Year's Eve is historically the busiest night of the year for the Windsor Street Angels, although lockdowns have reduced the footfall in recent years it's a time where many find themselves vulnerable whether through low moods and loneliness or through enjoying themselves a little too much whilst out with their friends.

Whilst New Years Eve is just one night, 2022 has been a busy year where we have helped over 4000 people, supporting Royal Ascot as well as the night time economy in Windsor as well as important events like the Royal Funeral.

As we move in to 2023... Continue reading

Limited Mobility Yoga - Last 2022 Session

by UnwindYS, over 1 year ago
We have just had our lovely group of 70+ students get together for a Christmassy last 2022 session - gentle yoga with movement and always lots of laughs, plus tea and mince pies after! The group has grown really close, it's SO lovely to see. We look forward to having them back in 2023 as we continue the programme and will probably be able to step it up a little - the participants have become stronger and more mobile and want to challenge themselves to progress gently to be able to do more.

    Happy Holidays to all,

    Sandra
