Since 2022, the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead and NHS Frimley have supported 47 unique community-led projects through the RBWM Innovation Fund. Just under £150,000 has been awarded to community groups across the Borough over four stages of the Fund.

We are very excited to announce that the Innovation Fund has reopened for applications and residents and groups can apply for up to £5,000 for their health & wellbeing project ideas.

Funding is available to any RBWM resident or group of any age no matter how big or small the idea.

  1. Improving access to services to better people’s health
  2. Social isolation & loneliness
  3. Health prevention to reduce risk factors

  4. Families, children & young people.

Last Thursday 16th May we held our latest monthly Cameo meeting at the Village Hall. Children from years 2, 3, 4 & 5 from our local Knowl Hill Academy (primary school) joined our regular attendees for an afternoon of mixed activities including dominoes, colouring, scrabble, & pictionary. And, of course, tea or apple juice and home-made cakes! Sumayyah and Nicky from the Innovation fund joined us and observed the fantastic interaction between the generations. It is truly heartwarming to see how lively our Cameo session becomes with the children present. Our next session will be a whist drive on 20th... Continue reading

Oaken Grove Park - New Community Orchard!!

by Dave Duncan, 7 months ago

Our first event in Oaken Grove park will be to plant 10 Apple Trees we have been given by Thatchers (the cider makers). The plan is to plant this new small Orchard on Saturday 25th May between 10:30 and 12:30. We have agreed with RBWM a suitable location for the Orchard in the park and have also got access to the nearest water supply which is important as we'll need to set up a rota to water the trees at least once a week during the summer as the first two years are crucial in getting the trees properly... Adopt A Street

by Gill Hudson, 7 months ago
Holyport Litterati, our local litterpicking group, have now launched their Adopt A Street campaign. In return for free litterpicking kit – a litterpicking stick, gloves, bags and a hoop – local residents pledge to keep part or all of a street as litterfree as possible. We've already 'adopted' large areas of Holyport, including Aysgarth Park and Springfield, and are hoping to extend the scheme to neighbouring villages over the next few months. @HLitterati for updates, and/or contact gill.hudson@holyportcommunitytrust.org if you want to join in!

    Heritage Buses - February update

    by TVaGWOT, 9 months ago

The Trust's buses and archive connect people, places and the past, with memories and activities to enjoy. For 2024 we have some new displays of old photos taken in and around the Borough. Last weekend 40 visitors reminisced in Bray ward so here's an example to interest online visitors. Alternatively why not come and see us at the Health & Wellbeing Fayre on 13th March (1.30pn-4.30pm) in Maidenhead Library and find out more...... We hope to see you there.

Cameo (Come And Meet Each Other) had its first get together of 2024 at the Village Hall on 18th January. It was attended by around 12 elderly residents from the village who were entertained with tea, cakes and a pop quiz! The Quiz featured music from the '50s to the '80s and got a few us tapping our feet! We have a schedule of events for the year. Next meeting will be February 15th.
